What are BG Services?
BG Services are maintenance treatments developed by BG Products that clean, protect and restore specific systems in your vehicle, from the engine and fuel system to the brakes, cooling system, steering and transmission. They are for drivers who like to go the extra mile in their vehicle's maintenance.
Most of them are fluid exchanges, also called flushes: the old fluid comes out along with the contaminants and deposits it has collected, and fresh fluid goes in.
7 services
Engine, fuel, air intake, brakes, coolant, steering, transmission.
Part of maintenance
More manufacturers now schedule fluid exchanges.
Free inspection
A $75 value. No purchase required.
Signs your vehicle could use a BG service
Old fluids and built-up deposits usually show up as one of these.
Lower gas mileage
Fuel system deposits waste fuel.
Less power or rough idle
Deposits in the injectors and intake valves.
Running hot
Worn coolant can lead to overheating.
Stiff or noisy steering
Contaminated power steering fluid.
Also ask about it when:
Your maintenance schedule lists a fluid exchange
Throttle response feels slow
Braking feels weaker
Why fluid exchanges matter
Just like engine oil, the other fluids in your vehicle break down and lose their properties over time, and contaminants and deposits build up in the systems they serve. That is why more and more manufacturers include fluid exchanges in regular maintenance.
Left alone, the damage builds quietly: sludge restricts oil flow, brake fluid absorbs moisture that corrodes parts and weakens braking, and worn coolant raises the risk of overheating and of water pump or radiator failure.
Benefits of BG Services
- Better performance and fuel efficiency
- Longer life for engine and system parts
- Fewer unexpected breakdowns
- Fewer costly repairs
- Lower emissions
Which BG service does your vehicle need?
BG engine oil service
Done with your oil change in two levels: Engine Service adds BG MOA to clean and protect the engine, and Engine Plus first runs BG EPR to clear out sludge and deposits so oil flows freely.
Fuel system and air induction service
Clears deposits from the injectors, intake valves and throttle body for better mileage, power and throttle response, and a smoother idle.
Brake fluid exchange
Replaces fluid that has absorbed moisture, which corrodes parts and weakens braking.
Coolant flush
Removes worn coolant, rust and debris to help prevent overheating and water pump or radiator failure.
Power steering fluid exchange
Replaces contaminated fluid for smooth, quiet steering, and protects the pump, steering gear and seals.
Transmission fluid service
Done the way your vehicle's manufacturer calls for: a drain and refill, a filter and fluid change, or a full exchange. Your estimate shows which one and how much fluid your transmission takes.
BG Services at Comtires
We perform every BG Service with BG Products' own treatments and fluids, in line with your vehicle's recommended maintenance schedule. A fuel system service is often paired with an air induction service, since both clear the deposits that cost the engine power and mileage.
Our digital vehicle inspections show you the condition of your vehicle, and you get a complete estimate with every repair.

BG Services FAQ
Is a flush the same as a fluid exchange?
Yes, they are two names for the same job. A fluid exchange, or flush, removes the old fluid along with the contaminants and deposits it has collected and replaces it with fresh fluid, so the system works as it should. Most BG Services are fluid exchanges for one specific system, such as the brakes, coolant or power steering.
How often do I need a BG service?
Follow your vehicle's recommended maintenance schedule. Like engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid and transmission fluid break down and lose their properties over time, and more and more manufacturers now list these exchanges as regular maintenance. Our free inspection, a $75 value with no purchase required, is a good way to find out what is due.
Why do brake fluid and coolant need to be replaced?
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which leads to corrosion and weaker braking. Coolant breaks down and picks up rust and debris, which raises the risk of overheating and of water pump or radiator failure. Exchanging them removes the old fluid and its contaminants and protects the parts it flows through.
What does a fuel system and air induction service do?
A fuel system service cleans deposits from the fuel injectors, intake valves and fuel lines, which can cause lower gas mileage, less power and a rough idle. It is often paired with an air induction service, which removes carbon from the intake manifold, throttle body and intake valves to restore airflow and throttle response.
Which BG Services do you offer?
We offer seven: an engine oil service, a fuel system service, an air induction service, brake fluid, coolant and power steering fluid exchanges, and a transmission fluid service. Each one targets a specific system in your vehicle to clean it, protect it and restore its performance, using BG Products' own treatments and fluids.
